The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the admit cards for the Class 10 and 12 Supplementary Exams 2025, providing students with a crucial opportunity to clear failed subjects or improve their scores. The supplementary exams, previously known as compartment exams, are scheduled to commence on July 15, 2025, and the admit cards are now available for both regular and private candidates. This article outlines key details about the exams, the process to obtain admit cards, and essential guidelines for students.

Exam Schedule and Purpose

The CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Exams will take place from July 15 to July 22, 2025, with sessions held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. In contrast, the Class 12 Supplementary Exam is scheduled for a single day, July 15, 2025, at the same time. These exams are designed for students who were placed in the compartment category after the main board exams or those seeking to enhance their marks. Specifically, Class 10 students who failed up to two subjects and Class 12 students who failed one subject are eligible to appear, alongside those aiming to improve their scores in up to two subjects for Class 10 or one subject for Class 12, as per CBSE guidelines.

The CBSE announced the main board exam results on May 13, 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 93.66% for Class 10 and 88.39% for Class 12. The supplementary exams offer a vital chance for students to avoid losing an academic year.

How to Obtain Admit Cards

The process for accessing admit cards varies for regular and private candidates:

  • Regular Students: Schools are responsible for downloading admit cards from the official CBSE portal at https://cbseit.in/cbse/web/comptt/schLogin.aspx. School authorities must log in using their credentials, verify the details, and distribute printed copies to students after authentication with the principal’s signature and school stamp. Students should collect their admit cards directly from their respective schools.
  • Private Candidates: Private candidates can download their admit cards directly from the CBSE portal at https://cbseit.in/cbse/web/pvtform/pvtAdmCard.aspx. They need to enter details such as their application number, previous roll number, or name and date of birth, along with a security code. After verifying the details, candidates should download and print multiple copies of the admit card for future reference.

The admit cards were released on July 8, 2025, as confirmed by multiple sources, ensuring students have ample time to prepare.

Key Details on the Admit Card

The CBSE Supplementary Admit Card 2025 contains critical information that students must verify:

  • Student’s name, roll number, and photograph
  • Examination center details (name, address, and center code)
  • Subject names, codes, and exam dates
  • Exam day instructions, including reporting time and prohibited items

Students are advised to check all details carefully. Any discrepancies, such as incorrect names, roll numbers, or exam centers, should be reported immediately to school authorities (for regular students) or the nearest CBSE regional office (for private candidates).

Exam Guidelines and Instructions

To ensure a smooth examination process, CBSE has outlined strict guidelines for students:

  • Mandatory Documents: Students must carry their printed admit card and a valid ID (school ID for regular candidates or government-approved ID for private candidates). Entry to the exam hall is prohibited without the admit card.
  • Arrival Time: Candidates should arrive at the exam center by 10:00 AM, as entry closes at this time. It is recommended to visit the exam center a day earlier to account for travel time, weather, or traffic conditions.
  • Dress Code: Regular students must wear their school uniform, while private candidates should opt for appropriate attire, avoiding casual or inappropriate clothing.
  • Permitted Items: Students may bring a transparent pouch with stationery (blue/royal blue pens, pencils, eraser, scale), an analogue watch, and a transparent water bottle. For students with Dyscalculia, calculators provided by the exam center are permitted.
  • Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators (unless specified), electronic devices, textual materials, wallets, goggles, handbags, and eatables (except for diabetic students) are strictly banned.
  • Conduct: Students must adhere to exam rules, avoid malpractices, and refrain from spreading misinformation on social media. Violation of these rules may lead to disciplinary action.
