Biannual Board Exams for Class 10

The first phase is mandatory, while the second is optional, with the best score retained. This move aligns with NEP 2020’s vision of reducing high-stakes pressure, offering students flexibility, and encouraging stress-free learning. Class 10 and 12 Results for 2025
CBSE declared the 2025 board exam results on May 13, 2025, with impressive pass percentages: 93.66% for Class 10 and 88.39% for Class 12. Continuing a multi-year trend, girls outperformed boys in both classes. Students can access results via official websites (cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in), DigiLocker, UMANG app, SMS, or IVRS. A new six-digit access code system for DigiLocker ensures secure access to digital marksheets. To pass, students need at least 33% in each subject (theory and practical combined for Class 12), with grace marks available for marginal shortfalls. Over 1.4 lakh Class 10 and 1.29 lakh Class 12 students were placed in the compartment category, with supplementary exams scheduled for July 15–22, 2025.
Streamlined Revaluation and Verification Process
CBSE has revised its post-result process for 2025 to enhance transparency. Students must first obtain a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets (₹500 for Class 10, ₹700 for Class 12) before applying for verification of marks (₹500 per subject) or re-evaluation (₹100 per question). For Class 12, the application window for photocopies was May 21–27, 2025, with verification/re-evaluation from May 28–June 3, 2025. For Class 10, the window for photocopies is May 27–June 2, 2025, followed by verification/re-evaluation from June 3–7, 2025. This structured process ensures students can review their answer sheets before seeking corrections.
Updated Syllabus: Emphasis on Practical Learning
On March 29, 2025, CBSE released an updated syllabus for Classes 9 to 12, emphasizing practical, inquiry-based, and tech-enabled learning. Key highlights include:

A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for exam eligibility, though special provisions allow students participating in national/international sports or Olympiads to appear for exams on alternate dates. Admit cards and centre materials were made available on February 3, 2025, with scribe data updates required by February 24, 2025.
Increased Weightage for Internal Assessments
CBSE has increased the weightage of internal assessments to 40% of total marks for both Class 10 and 12, with the remaining 60% from final board exams. This shift emphasizes continuous evaluation through projects, assignments, and tests, fostering a more holistic assessment approach.
