Who’s it for? If you love solving problems, figuring out how gadgets or nature work, or if science feels like your thing (like it did for me), this is your stream.
What can you do later?
- Become an engineer (think IITs, NITs through JEE).
- Go for medicine (MBBS, BDS via NEET).
- Dive into cool stuff like Data Science, AI, or Biotechnology.
- Even research if you’re into pure science.

2. Commerce Stream: For the Money and Business Lovers

Commerce is about Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Math (optional), and English.

Who’s it for? If you’re into numbers, love the idea of running a business, or want to know how money works, this is your vibe.
What can you do later?
- Become a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS).
- Study B.Com, MBA, or Economics.
- Work in banking, finance, marketing, or even start your own business.
Why pick it? If numbers and business ideas excite you, this stream’s super practical. Plus, you can still switch to stuff like law or journalism later.
Heads-up: You’ll need to get comfy with financial concepts and keep up with what’s happening in the economy.

3. Arts/Humanities Stream: For the Creative and Curious

Arts has subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, or even Literature and Fine Arts.

Who’s it for? If you love reading, writing, or understanding people and society, this one’s for you. It’s great if you’re creative or into social stuff.
What can you do later?
- Crack UPSC to become an IAS or IPS officer.
- Go into law, journalism, teaching, or psychology.
- Try creative fields like design, writing, or media.
Why pick it? If you’re not into heavy math and love exploring human stories or ideas, this stream’s got so many cool paths.
Heads-up: Some people might say it’s “less prestigious,” but that’s nonsense—Arts can lead to amazing careers.

My Big Advice: Go with Your Gut!

When I picked Science, it was because it clicked with me. I found it easy, and I loved digging into the “why” behind things. So, my biggest tip? Choose what feels easy, fun, and fits your dreams. Don’t pick something just because your friends are doing it or your parents think it’s cool. Go for subjects you’re good at, enjoy, and can score well in. How to Figure It Out?

What do you love?
Think about the subjects you enjoy. For me, Science was a no-brainer because I loved the logic. If you’re into numbers, maybe Commerce. If stories and ideas excite you, Arts is awesome.
What are you good at?
Look at your Class 10th marks. If you’re acing Math and Science, maybe Science is your thing (like it was for me). If Social Studies or English is your jam, Arts could be great. Good with numbers? Try Commerce.
