The Massachusetts Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program (GMSGP) provides need-based financial aid to Massachusetts residents pursuing undergraduate studies or nursing diplomas at eligible independent institutions. Grants range from $200 to $2,500 per academic year.

Eligibility

  • Massachusetts resident for at least 12 months prior to the academic year.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (per Title IV).
  • Enrolled full-time (12+ credits) at an eligible Massachusetts institution.
  • No prior bachelor’s degree or professional nursing diploma.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Compliant with Selective Service (if applicable) and not in default on student loans.

Eligible Institutions

  • Independent, accredited Massachusetts colleges or nursing schools.
  • Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges or National League of Nursing (for nursing programs).
  • Excludes public institutions and religious-focused schools.
